Project Overview:
To implement a comprehensive Asset and Works Management solution covering all aspects of recording, planning, maintaining and constructing electricity distribution asset infrastructure.  More recently EMS provided a customised Works Planning solution.

Transend Networks Pty Ltd owns and operates the whole electricity transmission system in Tasmania.  They transmit electricity from power stations to substations around the State delivering this to the Distributors.  They own 3500 circuit kilometres of High Voltage transmission lines, 47 substations and nine switching stations

Transend is registered with the National Electricity Market Management Company as a participant in Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM).  The NEM operates on an interconnected power system that extends from Queensland to South Australia.  Tasmania is connected to the NEM via Basslink-an undersea cable that connects the Tasmanian power system to the mainland system in Victoria
